Tire Reviews - Dunlop Roadsmart (Rear)
The Dunlop Roadsmart is a relatively new tire. It received good reviews in the press. Riders have reported interesting behaviors with the dual compound rear. The rear tire of the Dunlop Roadsmart is rated very well.
One of the better reviews is from www.allmotorcycletirereviews.com. Some have reported a ridge forming on the tire, which they feel inhibits turn-in. We need more rider reviews on this tire to help clarify whether this is much of an issue. |

Didn't get as much mileage as I was hoping for. They did perform well in the twisties offering up better than average grip at full lean. |

Rear was noticeably squared off at 4000 mi. You would never know this is supposed to be a dual compound tire. I got more mileage out of the stock Bridgestone BT020s. Wet grip is horrible! 8000 miles and both front and rear are smoothe! |

| If you're putting on equally as many miles in the twisties (or more) as you are straight, then this might be a good tire for you. However, if you want miles, don't by these. |

Easy to find at most motorcycle shops. Good cornering traction to a point. |

Slippery when cold. Reduced stopping traction on center of tire. Cornering traction is not predictable at edge of grip. After second set of these tires, I will not be going back to Dunlop Roadsmarts, they are too unpredictable. |

Great confidence in the wet. Good feedback from the both but the back gets a little 'squirrely' when pushed hard in hot conditions. Even wear rate and no ridging that I heard others talk about. |

Not as quick into a corner as a Michelin but I think all Dunlops are a bit like that. Take longer to warm up than my D220s but still pretty good for a sport/tour tyre. |

Great all around tires. Very good traction in all conditions. Best wear I have experienced in a sport touring tire. At least 2000 miles left after almost 5000 miles. Was more reasonable than Metzler Z6 that I had prior. |

Tire Reviews - Dunlop Roadsmart (Front)
The Dunlop Roadsmart is a relatively new tire. It received good reviews in the press. Unlike the rear, the front is not a dual compound tire.
One of the better reviews is from www.allmotorcycletirereviews.com. Riders on this site and others have had generally positive, but mixed reviews for the Dunlop Roadsmart front. |

Didn't get as much mileage as I was hoping for. They did perform well in the twisties offering up better than average grip at full lean. |

Rear was noticeably squared off at 4000 mi. You would never know this is supposed to be a dual compound tire. I got more mileage out of the stock Bridgestone BT020s. Wet grip is horrible! 8000 miles and both front and rear are smoothe! |

| If you're putting on equally as many miles in the twisties (or more) as you are straight, then this might be a good tire for you. However, if you want miles, don't by these. |

Easy to find at most motorcycle shops. Good cornering traction to a point. |

Slippery when cold. Reduced stopping traction on center of tire. Cornering traction is not predictable at edge of grip. After second set of these tires, I will not be going back to Dunlop Roadsmarts, they are too unpredictable. |

Great confidence in the wet. Good feedback from the both but the back gets a little 'squirrely' when pushed hard in hot conditions. Even wear rate and no ridging that I heard others talk about. |

Not as quick into a corner as a Michelin but I think all Dunlops are a bit like that. Take longer to warm up than my D220s but still pretty good for a sport/tour tyre. |

Good out of the box tire. Warmed up quickly and handled the corners and wet traction. Smooth transitions in corners when new. I loved the tire when I first got it. |

The tire wore extreemly badly on both shoulders forming a ridge 3/4" off center on each side. After about 4k miles the bike wanted to fall in corners or at low speeds when you transitioned off center. The millage was 25% down from the d205 and the d220. |
