Rider Reviews

Third bike, third set of MT66's By BAL02 riding a 1993 Kawasaki Voyager
April 14, 2012

Pros:

Excellent wet grip; almost unaffected by cracks, grooves, and grated bridges; long wearing; inexpensive, but very high quality.

Cons:

Sizes seem somewhat limited.

We upgraded to a '93 Kawaskai Voyager touring bike, last Fall (2010). This is one large bike, with factory hard saddlebags, trunk, full fairing (upper and lower portions). It is a heavy, touring machine. Liked the Pirelli MT66's so much, on our two previous bikes, that we put them on the touring beast, as well.

Rode them on a 7-day tour, in rain, earlier this Summer, on our touring beast. No issues whatsoever. Getting good mileage, thus far, but that is only around 4,000 miles. We've run these tires on an '83 Kawasaki 440 LTD (small, 400#, agile bike), a '79 Honda CB750 (mid-sized, 600#, but we rode it two-up, around Lake Superior, through four days of rain, light to heavy, in Canada, leaning into curves, at 60 MPH -- we were suffering hypothermia, as it was only in the mid-50's F, and we needed to put on the miles!), and now on our heavy-weight (700+#) touring machine. Performance on all three bikes has been superb. We're true believers in these tires. Nothing but a matching set of MT66's will carry us on our tours. YMMV. Cheers!
