Tire Description

Pilot Power 2CT tires add two-compound technology to the already renowned Pilot Power range. While 2CT technology originated in MotoGP racing, Pilot Power 2CT tires are intended for the most demanding sportbike riders, who use their bikes both on the road and for track days. Its tread surface is divided into three separate areas, incorporating two different rubber compounds. This helps provide numerous benefits in terms of dry grip, lean angle, handling and progressive acceleration and braking on wet surfaces. Track-day tire that’s equally at home on the road. Real MotoGP technology from the tire company that introduced dual-compound tires in GP racing. 20% softer rubber mix on the edges of the tread yields phenomenal cornering grip. Lean angles up to 51.2° measured on Michelin test track

Precise handling and feedback. An extension of the Pilot® Power line, not a replacement. Winner, 2009 Motorrad sport tire test.

203 reviews. 4.7 of 5 stars. One rider likes the tread life over the Pilot Powers, stable on windy mountain highways. On a GSXR 1000 – had Dunlop Qualifiers before and like these better. On an FZ1 – get 9,000 miles, little better on the front. On a ZX11 – used to use Dunlop Qualifiers and like these better. Another upgraded from Dunlop Sportmax, like this tire better, traction is very good under all conditions, feel glued to the road at all speeds.

9 reviews. 4.5 of 5 stars. On a Hayabusa – excellent wear, superb grip, great balance between performance (cornering) and overall tire wear. On a ZX-10 – like these better than Dunlop Qualifiers, more grip, can lay the bike into a corner and have no worry the front will slip. Another used to run Pilot Powers, like 2CT better, like glue at hard lean angles, get warm fast and provide tons of confidence and feedback, 60% track/40% street.

The Michelin Pilot Power 2CT was part of a Visordown sportbike tire test. Wet test: 1.21.90, 3rd of 8 tires. Dry test: 1.12.83, 3rd of 8 tires. Overall 3rd of 8 tires.
