Overall Review

The Pirelli Angel GT is still a highly rated tire. Wet handling reviews are mixed. Dry handling is said to be better than the Michelin Pilot Road 3 which is another highly rated tire. The German magazine Motorrad rated the Pirelli Angel GT as number one in their testing. US-based reviews back up this high rating.

Reviews by Source

30 reviews. 4.9 of 5 stars. On a Ninja 1000 – provide excellent grip on dry and wet, quiet, expect to get 6,000 miles. On a BMW 1600 GTL – by far the best tires, quiet, handling is terrific, soft ride. On a Ducati Multistrada 620 – getting 20% more mileage compared to Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2, don’t notice any less traction. On a Concours 14 – replaced Bridgestone Battlax, can ride faster and turn harder, feels like bike lost 200 pounds, feels tires are not good in the rain or in temps below 36 degrees. On a BMW R1200R – stick better than Pilot Road 3, close to Pirelli Scorpion Trail. On a K1600 GTL – prefer over Metzeler Z8, are lasting longer, handle well in wet.

17 reviews. 4.6 of 5. On a Ducati Monster – excellent turn in and stability in turns. On a FJR 1300 – got 8,000 miles on Pilot Road 2, got 4,000 on the Pirelli Angel GT, Pirelli Angel GT provide better grip wet and dry. Another says tires give good road feel, good lean in, minimal tire flex, balance is neutral. On a Kawasaki Concours 14 – expect to get 13,000 miles, got 9,000 on Pirelli Angel ST. On an FZ1 – have 7,000 miles with 1/2 tread left. On a ZX14 – expect to get 9,000 miles, always stable in the corners. On a CBR 600 RR – have given more confidence. On a Ducati Multistrada – best sport touring tire on any bike, grip in summer like a sport bike tire, hold well in the rain, expect 8,000 miles, Pirelli Angel GT grip is better than Michelin Pilot Road 3. Another feels wear rate on par with other sportbike tires, flattening in the middle within 800 miles. On a ZX14 – no drifting or loss of stability, solid planted line.

The December, 2013 edition of the German Motorrad magazine compared the new Pirelli Angel GT to a variety of other tires. All of the tyres were mounted on Suzuki Bandit 1250 S bikes. Below are the results: 1. Pirelli Angel GT 2. Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact 2. Bridgestone T30 4. Continental Road Attack 2 4. Dunlop Roadsmart 2 4. Michelin Pilot Road 3. The Pirelli Angel GT was rated number 1 of Sport Touring tires.
